Administration of the Centre

The centre is overseen by a Governing Board. Other administrative duties are coordinated by three committees, namely (i) Finance and General Purposes Committee, (ii) Research and Training Committee (iii) Global Networking Committee. The membership and terms of reference of each of these groups are here provided.

Receive quarterly/bi-annual reports from the other two committees.

Timely implementation of project activities.

Timely reporting of technical activities carried out to MacArthur Grants Liaison Officer.

Timely retirement of cash advances to MacArthur Grants Liaison Officer.

Ensure the effective collaboration among the implementing partners.

Fund raising for sustainability of the centre (across governmental and non-governmental organizations).

Coordinate curriculum development and passage through University of Ibadan procedure for approval by the Senate.

Co-ordinate the fellowship and scholarship selection process of the centre.

Co-ordinate the research programmes of the centre (ensuring ethical conduct of research activities).

Coordinate training programmes, workshops and conferences in collaborating countries.

Co-ordinate outreach programmes of the centre.

Monitor and evaluate the performance and progress of scholars on the project.

Terms of Reference

Provide the widest possible network for the project, including to governmental, non-governmental and organized private sectors.

Bring the West African francophone countries into the body. Produce a communique at the end of each meeting and circulate such to the francophone countries. This would be done in the interest of the entire sub-region of West Africa and for global health.

Relate with international bodies to disseminate project achievements and experiences.

Evaluate the involvement of Governments of member states in promoting the project activities.

Provide feedback to Finance and General Purposes Committee on global impact of project activities.

 

The Vice-Chancellor, University of Ibadan provides the overall control. The day-to-day activities of the center is administered by the Principal Investigator and Project Team Leader, assisted by a Programme Officer and an Associate Programme Officer.
