Dr. Ijagbone holds M.Sc Veterinary Parasitology; M.Sc Epizootiology; and PhD from the University of Ibadan. He also holds a Certificate in Immunology from Chelsea College, University of London. He is a Fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Science Laboratory Technology and an Associate member of the Nigeria Institute of Biology. Dr. Ijagbone is a recipient of a number of fellowships and scholarships which enabled him to undertake various advanced trainings and research studies at the Central Veterinary Laboratory, Weybridge, Suney UK and Institute of Parasitology, Free University, Berlin, Germany. He specialized in Immunology and Epizootiology of parasitic diseases and has published widely on the immunology and diagnosis of African trypanosomosis. Dr. Ijagbone is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Veterinary Public Health and Preventive Medicine, University of Ibadan, where he teaches Immunology and Epizootiology. In 2006, the Federal Government of Nigeria appointed him to be the pioneer Registrar and Director-General of the Nigerian Institute of Science Laboratory Technology which was established by Act 12 of 2003 of the Parliament. The Institute is a regulatory agency of the Federal Government, ensuring the effective and efficient management and administration of science laboratories in Nigeria. It is also involved in research activities.
