The 6th International Conference on Rabies in West Africa (RIWA) will hold in Abuja, Nigeria from Monday, 12th to Friday, 16th August, 2019. The theme is, “Actualizing one-health collaboration towards achieving a people without rabies by 2030”. The RIWA Nigeria Organizing Committee has selected the ECOWAS Centre, Abuja as the conference venue. Delegates and participants are expected from each country of ECOWAS/CEDEAO sub-region, the Central, East and Southern Africa sub-regions, Europe, North America, the Pacific Rim, the West Indies and beyond. The 5th RIWA Conference, Mali 2018, was jointly hosted by the Mali Ministry of Health and Public Hygiene and Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS/CEDEAO) Regional Animal Health Centre (RAHC/CRSA) from Tuesday 23 to Thursday 25 October, 2018 at Hotel L'amitie, Bamako. RIWA 2018 brought together internationally renowned experts to present scientific and technical papers. The forum provided one-to-one advice and support for "creating One Health Action for stepwise elimination of rabies in West Africa by 2030: fostering enabling environment for rabies-free ECOWAS/CEDEAO sub-region".
