The 6th International Conference on Rabies in West Africa (RIWA) will be held in Nigeria, 2019. At the close of the 5th RIWA Conference, Mali 2018, jointly hosted by the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS/CEDEAO) Regional Animal Health Centre (RAHC/CRSA) and Mali Ministry of Health and Public Hygiene (Tuesday 23 to Thursday 25 October, 2018 held at Hotel L'amitie, Bamako), Nigeria was granted consensus approval to host the next conference. RIWA 2018 brought together internationally renowned experts to present scientific and technical papers. The forum provided one-to-one advice and support for "creating One Health Action for stepwise elimination of rabies in West Africa by 2030: fostering enabling environment for rabies-free ECOWAS/CEDEAO sub-region". The RIWA Nigeria Organizing Committee will provide further details on the 2019 conference as they become available. Delegates and participants are invited from each country of ECOWAS/CEDEAO sub-region, the Central, East and Southern Africa sub-regions, Europe, North America, the Pacific Rim, the West Indies and beyond.
