The journal, Epizootiology and Animal Health in West Africa, ISSN 2550-7990 emerged through joint activities of a critical mass of career officers trained by CCPZ on the specialty of Epizootiology of Zoonoses, led by the Center's Principal Investigator in the service of West African sub-region. The journal is co-published by the Society for Epizootiology in West Africa and the Center for Control and Prevention of Zoonoses. The journal is home for One Health surveillance manuscripts. A peer-reviewed journal that focuses on animal health in the context of husbandry practices, economics of animal health and diseases, human-animal disease surveillance, geographic information studies in veterinary science, ecology of animal diseases and the control and prevention of diseases at the animal-human-crop-environment interface in West Africa. 

The journal welcomes manuscripts for peer-review and subsequent publication on the following areas of interest:

1. Studies on native intelligence, including indigenous knowledge, attitude and care-seeking preferences associated with zoonoses in selected West African communities

2. Studies on time-series analysis and trend models of suspected, probable and confirmed cases of animal health issues and human-animal diseases in West Africa

3. Studies on geographic mapping, spatial and spatio-temporal analyses of the occurrence, distribution, control and prevention of factors, events, forces and circumstances associated with diseases of animals and human-animal diseases in West Africa

4. Studies on West African community engagement for food security and comprehensive One Health monitoring of related clinical issues and work systems development

5. Sturdies on indigenization of biotechnology for rapid detection of animal and zoonotic diseases

6. Parasitology, entomology and ecology of high consequence and neglected animal diseases and zoonoses

7· Studies on multi-omics disection, characterization, virology and molecular epidemiology of causal agents of animal diseases and zoonoses

8. Studies on pathogenesis, immunology, genomics and vaccinology of human-animal diseases
